After use in salt water, rinse the watch with fresh water or clean with a mild soapy water solution (use an old toothbrush if necessary). Dry with a soft cloth. Avoid direct contact of the watch and strap with solvents and cleaning agents, cosmetics, perfumes, etc. These products can damage the case, strap and seals.
Protect leather and textile straps from grease, water and moisture and do not expose them to excessive sunlight.
Do not place the watch on devices that emit strong magnetic fields (e.g. clock radios, refrigerators, loudspeakers, etc.).
If possible, do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures of more than 60 °C and less than - 5 °C. As long as the watch is worn, body heat will prevent such extreme temperature fluctuations.
Avoid excessive temperature fluctuations, such as those that occur in saunas.
Our watches require maintenance/cleaning from time to time. The need for maintenance depends on individual use, climate and care. We recommend carrying out an annual water-resistance test on the watch. With normal, careful use, we recommend a service/cleaning every 4-5 years, during which the system-relevant parts are cleaned, re-oiled and, in some cases, replaced. Oris movements with a 5- or 10-year guarantee have correspondingly longer cleaning intervals. Irregular rate values or the watch running down quickly are signs that the watch needs cleaning.
Take the watch to an authorized Oris dealer or send it to the Oris service centre in your country. The list of dealers and service centres can be found here.
