Oris tests all watches for the specified water-resistance value. All watches are water-resistant to at least 3 bar. The corresponding value is noted on the case back and in some cases on the dial of the individual models. Below you will find our recommendations for the use of Oris watches in water:
Watches labelled less than 10 bar or 100 m (328 ft.) must not be worn in water. Watches labelled 10 bar (100 m) or more may be worn in water. Daily natural use and ageing, especially of the gaskets, will affect the water resistance of the watch over time. Oris therefore recommends having the water resistance checked annually by an authorized dealer. The water-resistance test is a snapshot taken during the test. A blow to the crown, for example, can affect the water resistance. Standard crowns must always be pressed into position 0 to ensure that they meet the specified water-resistance values. Screw-down crowns, crowns with the Oris Quick Lock system (QLC) and screw-down pushers must always be closed to ensure that they meet the specified water-resistance values. Crowns and pushers must not be operated under water.
