We would make a number of recommendations. To minimise oxidation of your watch’s bronze components before you wear it, keep it wrapped in its original protective paper and do not wrap it in plastic film. In general use, avoid touching the watch, which could cause surface discolouration in certain areas. Ideally, when you’re adjusting a bronze watch, you should always wear gloves. Store your watch in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. It is possible to clean a bronze watch and restore its original colour, but we recommend not doing this. Instead, leave the patina, because it acts as a natural protective layer for bronze. If you discover unsightly marks and want to restore them, you can do this by mixing salt with a little vinegar and rubbing it into your watch using a soft brush, and then rinsing with water.
